I know - the dreaded headshot taken on a phone! But it's all I have at the moment! x

Once again it's been a while!

What a day!

I'd planned to go into town and have a mooch about. None of that happened...

I'd said to hubby that I wanted to go into town and he said "You might be busy later on." I asked what he meant and asked what he was plotting. (Surprises make me very uncomfortable. I don't like to know *something's* going to happen and not know what it is. It's the same with gifts. Unexpected gifts make me very uncomfortable.) He said that he wasn't plotting anything.

Then I thought 'Oh my god if we're having guests I need to tidy!' I was going to do my housework tomorrow! (Having my plans thrown out makes me squiggly, too) So I ran around and did some picking up and stuck some makeup on and before I had finished the makeup the doorbell rang.

I asked hubby if he would go and answer it as I wanted to finish putting the bits away that I'd picked up. He said that the door was for me so I dumped the stuff I had in my arms into his and went downstairs.

I'd figured someone was arriving. My step-sister said that our Nan was coming over at the end of this month so I figured it would be both my sisters, nieces and nephew and my Nan.

It wasn't.

I opened the door and there stood my Grandad and my Mum. I haven't seen my Mum since October 2008. She flew over from Spain last Sunday and called my on Tuesday hubby to tell him they were visiting and he'd kept it buttoned all week. It was such a nice day. She insisted that, as we don't have a car, that we go to the supermarket to do a big shop and stock our cupboards up which I was thankful for - we spend too much going to the shop at the end of the street everyday.

After that, we went to have lunch in our local pub.

I think we got about four hours together and she's flying home tomorrow. She called me when they got back to my Grandad's house and said that she'd loved seeing us today and that she wants to go somewhere with me next year for a long weekend. So I'm going to try and save a little bit every month so we can go away for some quality time together. I don't remember the last time we spent any time just the two of us. Probably not since I was small and we were on our own. I think we should go to Paris. That would be fantastic. I'm going to go and Google it now and see what deals I can find!

Once again I find I've been really slack at keeping this up to date but I promise I'll do better! :D xxx

It's for charity, mate!

Hello lovely people!

As you may or may not know, I have been growing my hair for three and a half years. I have decided that I would like to raise some money for some good causes and to do so I am going to be having my hair clippered off!

I am looking to raise some money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association because I had a friend who died in 2004 from MND.

I am also looking for raise some much-needed funding for King Arthur Pendragon's Stonehenge pickets, more of which can be read about here: http://www.warband.org.uk/index.htm under the appropriate picket-related headings.

~If you would like to make a donation to one, or both, of these causes here's what to do!~

To donate to the NMD Assoc. please go to http://www.justgiving.com/xowie-brandt-gittens

If you would like to donate to Arthur's pickets, please contact me directly to arrange this.

~IF I HAVE RAISED £250 BY 31st OCTOBER 2009 I WILL HAVE THIS DONE AT THE RED LION PUB IN AVEBURY*~

Any help much appreciated! Please spread the word and thank you so much for your support.

Xowie.

*(Disclaimer: This is dependent on my being able to get to Avebury on that day which, at the moment, isn't certain but I'll try my best to be there! But fear not, I will be going ahead with this.)

Gutted

Having been a fan of Michael Jackson since I was five I was saddened to hear of his death aged just 50 from suspected cardiac arrest.

Dweezil Zappa

We went to see him last night in Bristol. It was VERY good.

One unexpected addition to the set was the blow up doll...Someone filmed it and I'd like to share it with you.

Weeee!

I'm off to the Spiritualist church tonight for the first time in about two months. I can't WAIT!

My old job really prevented me from going but now I can! (One plus side of being made redundant I guess.)

On the job front, I have an interview with a bank next week which I'm feeling rather positive about.

I'm getting married on Tuesday too - my job interview is on Wednesday so I had best take it easy at the wedding reception...!

Life is surprisingly good. xxx

The Waiting Game

Well it seems that the last two-and-a-half years of pain, upset, torment and general distress have started to pay off. (I say 'started' because I don't want to break it! Tentative steps...)

This very evening, one of my little sisters got in touch. It's been over a year since I've seen either of them - although they came to see me in the play last month but we didn't get a chance to catch up as one of them was poorly)

I've sat and bide my time and many times that's been the hardest thing to do. But I have been patient and it seems to be working. Fingers crossed the progress continues.

xXx

New hair!

I decided yesterday that I wanted a fringe after weeks of to-ing and fro-ing. So I popped to the bathroom and cut one! I LOVE IT and I feel SO good!
